Local B-Ball Teams Look For Bounce-Back Week

The final two weeks of the regular season for high school basketball and the final week of home games for Kenai, Nikiski and SoHi amps up the pressure; rivalry games enhance that pressure even more.

 

All three schools are in action on Tuesday; Friday features Southcentral Conference pairings for Kenai and Nikiski; and Saturday is the annual Kenai-Soldotna, SoHi Senior Day.

 

Tuesday, February 25: Basketball Preview

Kenai @ Nikiski

The Kardinals travel to Nikiski on Tuesday for Southcentral Conference contests with conference tournament seeding on the line, as well as bragging rights.

The Kardinal girls defended home court 29-27 against the Bulldog girls in mid-February, while the Kardinal boys held-off Nikiski by a single point 55-54.

Tuesday’s games open with the varsity boys at 6 p.m., followed by the girls varsity at 7:30 p.m.

SoHi @ Homer

The Stars, both girls and boys, look to get back on track with non-conference contests at Homer against the Mariners.  SoHi hosts Kenai on Saturday for the Stars Senior Day.

Tuesday’s games open with the varsity girls at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys varsity at 8:00 p.m.
