Local high school students will have the opportunity to attend the 6th annual Kenai Peninsula College Fair Tuesday.

Pegge Erkeneff with the school district says there will be over 40 educational institutions from in and out of Alaska at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex on October 20.

Erkeneff: “It will go from 10am to 1pm and it’s open to all of our high school juniors and seniors.”

The college fair is free and students and parents can learn more about scholarships, loans, state and federal financial aid programs.

Erkeneff says even if high school students aren’t sure they want to go to college, the fair is worth going to.

Erkeneff: “They get to be in a safe environment where they can just ask questions and explore. it’s so fun to see young people who might not of had a sense of what they want to do for college or if they even want to go to college, meet with people and just give some ideas and vision about what they could possibly do.”

Not just colleges are on the list of educators coming, places like Northern Industrial Training from Palmer and the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute will be there.
