The high school soccer season, following a cancellation of the 2020 season and a late-spring start due to heavy snowfall, cleared the KCHS pitch and knocked-off the early season rust with Kenai hosting Nikiski on the KCHS turf field on Thursday.
The Kenai girls shut-out Nikiski 6-0 and the Kardinal boys held the Bulldog boys scoreless in a 5-0 Kenai victory.
Kenai Girls 6 – Nikiski 0
Kylee Verkuilen lead the Kardinal girls with a two-goal effort. Bethany Morris, Kori Moore, Julia Hansen and Chloe Goldsby added single goals.
Kenai Boys 5 – Nikiski Boys 0
Leif Lofquist scored two goals and James Baisden, Sam Baisden and River Tomrdle added single goals.
