A 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook the Kenai Peninsula and Kodiak Island Monday Morning, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center.
The 5.8 quake reported by the Alaska Earthquake Center — struck at 1:52 am.
It was centered 61 miles south-west of Homer and struck at a depth of about 40.6 miles.
Initial reports from the USGS indicated the quake was felt throughout the Kenai peninsula and on Kodiak Island.
