The highest snowfall amounts will likely be in the Talkeetna mountains near Hatcher Pass, with lesser but still significant snowfall totals possible at lower elevations of the Mat-Su valleys Thursday night through Friday.
The Anchorage area is expected to remain all snow Thursday night and into Friday, but will be very close to the rain/snow line. It is possible there could be brief periods of rain mixed in with the snow early Friday morning across the Anchorage bowl producing hazardous travel conditions.
Over the Kenai Peninsula, a mix of mainly rain with some snow will also cause deteriorating travel conditions Thursday night into Friday. Toward the Homer area, especially the Homer Bluff, rain may change to a period of moderate snow early Friday morning before ending.
