The Homer Mariner hockey team remains unbeaten in North Star Conference hockey, following an 8-2 victory over the Kenai Kardinals on Saturday at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility.
Homer opened with two goals in the first period and added a single goal in the second, before a barrage of shots resulted in five, third-period goals. Kenai managed a pair of goals in the third; one for Matt Hagel and a goal for Nate Beiser. Josh Tree for the Kardinals recorded 49 saves; Homer’s Hunter Warren recorded 20 saves. The Mariners out-shot Kenai 57 to 22.
