The Division II 2019 state volleyball champion Homer Mariners held the Division III Soldotna Stars in check on Tuesday recording a four-game, match victory over SoHi at Homer High School.
The Mariners handled the Stars 25-15 and 25-14 in the first two games; the Stars rallied in game three for a 26-24 win. Homer closed the match with a 25-13, game four decision.
Homer’s Laura Inama recorded nine kills and four aces.
Soldotna will host Kenai on Friday in the SoHi gymnasium with covid protocols in affect. Varsity game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
