Kenai Peninsula Borough voters will decide who will be borough Mayor on October 7.
KSRM asked the three candidates what makes them more qualified for the job than their competition.
Incumbent Mayor Mike Navarre…
Navarre: “I have more government experience and more business experience than Tom and certainly with Carrol, he may have more business experience because he’s older than I am but I certainly have more government experience and more government contacts.”
Carrol Martin…
Martin: “I think working on wildfire protection and developing a safe and secure food supply.”
Tom Bearup…
Bearup: “I think that I’d bring a new perspective I think getting back to the basics of who we are as people, as Americans and to protect those property rights and personal property rights if you will for everybody in the borough.”
Martin and Navarre will appear on KSRM for a two hour mayoral debate on Monday, September 29 from 4 – 6 pm. Bearup declined the debate.
