Medicaid Billed Top Priority for Final Weeks

With just two weeks left until this Legislative session is scheduled to end, lawmakers are adding extra sessions to deal with pressing concerns like Medicaid expansion.

 

Sen. Stedman(R-Sitka): “We’ll have cost-containment and expansion all rolled into one large discussion with the overall goal as getting the health and human services portion of our budget under control.”

 

Sitka Senator Bert Stedman chairs the Health and Social Services committee.

 

The House has also scheduled two-a-day meetings this week, Tuesday through Thursday. The mornings will be devoted to Medicaid expansion.

 

Governor Bill Walker insists expansion pairs with efforts to bring down the state’s healthcare expenses.
