A community meeting will be held in Nikiski on Wednesday for anyone interested in more information on the proposed Law Enforcement Service Area.
Ben Carpenter says attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Law Enforcement Service Area board candidates along with have Ballot Proposition 2 questions answered.
Carpenter: “We have invited Wayne Ogle, Colonel Cockrell with the Troopers, Captain Greenstreet with the Troopers, Collette Thompson the Borough Attorney, Scott Leaders the District Attorney, and Greg Russell who’s a law enforcement consultant for the borough, to meet and give the community an opportunity to meet the board candidates and an opportunity to announce any write-in candidacies that people have decided to do. And an opportunity to have their questions answered by subject matter experts.”
We asked him what the format of the meeting will be.
Carpenter: “The purpose of the meeting is a more constructive one of asking questions of the leaders or the people in charge in the borough to actually understand how this would work.”
The meeting will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30, at the Nikiski Rec Center Banquet Room, also known as the Old Nikiski Elementary Library.
