The Peninsula Oilers dropped their season opener to the MatSu Miners, 9-2, on Sunday, June 9.
The Oilers, Cole Dawson, scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning to put the Oilers on the board. Colin Robinson hit a home run in the top of 7th to add another to the scoreboard for Kenai.
Mat-Su put up two runs in the second and fourth innings, one run in the fifth, and three runs in the sixth, and added one more in the sixth inning.
