The bib assignments have been posted for the 2014 Mount Marathon race.

Erin Lemas with the Seward Chamber of Commerce said they saw about the same number of applicants for the runner lottery this year.

Lemas: “I mean they probably fluctuate within like 10, 15, 20 maybe. Like I said the lottery, we were right around seven hundred and something last year too so it’s right on point, I want to say that we might be up this year but I might be wrong.”

Lemas said a program randomly chooses which first-time runners will fill the 125 spots and has a system for people who have previously applied but not been chosen.

Lemas: “This is also the second year that we’ve implemented the weighted lottery. So everybody that applied in the lottery last year and didn’t get in and is applying this year, their name gets thrown into the hat twice.”

Bib numbers dictate which of the two start times runners are in and any runners who would like to change their wave must submit a request by May 15.
