Soldotna Dispatch confirmed the roadway was cleared and reopened.
Eight patients were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital with non-life threatening injuries
Law enforcement agencies are asking drivers to travel cautiously and give extra space between vehicles.

Central Emergency Services and Kenai medical personnel responded to an accident at the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Mackey Lake Road at 5:30 pm.
CES Captain Terry Bookey reported the road would be closed.
