Mumford Resigns from Board of Fisheries

The newest member of the Alaska Board of Fisheries, Robert “Bob” Mumford, has resigned.

 

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game confirmed that Mumford submitted his resignation Thursday.

 

The seat Mumford occupies was originally opened in 2015 when Governor Bill Walker told then-chair Karl Johnstone that he would not be reappointed when his term ended in July.

 

Following the appointments of Kenai Peninsula nominees Roland Maw and Robert Ruffner which did not pan out, the governor appointed Mumford last May.

 

Following his resignation, Mumford will reportedly serve through the next two Board of Fisheries meetings in February and March.

 

Mumford served on the Alaska Board of Game since 2012 and was also previously an Alaska State Trooper and Alaska Wildlife Trooper.

 

His term was set to expire in 2018.
