Sunday, September 6, is the voter registration deadline for the upcoming October 6 municipal elections.

Blankenship: “The last day to register to vote for the October 6 regular municipal elections is September 6, which is a Sunday, so if folks want to go ahead and make sure they’re registered they should probably do it before this Friday.”
The October 2014 Municipal Election only saw a 26% voter turnout.
The highest amount of 2014 Kenai Peninsula voters turned out in Cooper Landing(31.79%) where 110 of their 346 registered voters completed the ballot by mail. The second highest district was Kenai 3 with 25.89%.
In the upcoming October 6 elections, voters will decide on three Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly seats, two Soldotna City Council seats, two Kenai City Council seats, and Soldotna’s Mayor.
Absentee voting for the upcoming municipal elections begins September 21.
