Next week, Soldotna’s Music in the Park series will kick off for the second summer in a row.
Event Coordinator Andy Rash says their first season was very successful…
Rash: “Most of our new endeavors have been to grow the program so we’re going to have some really great artists come up this year. Last year we were just sort of shooting from the hip and it grew and it’s become one of our biggest events, we’re super proud of it.”
Next Wednesday’s first event of the season will be headlined by Mika Day and Blackwater Railroad, the band that toured with the huge Lutz spruce taken from Seward to decorate the U.S. Capitol Building.
Rash says they have quite a few well-known headliners this year…
Rash: “The Denali Cooks, Rob Justice Band, Spirit Daddies, Troubadour North, and Salem Accoustic Trio, that’s just to name a few. We have quite a few other people, some locals and we have some more to be announced, we’re still booking dates.”
