Mystery Creek Road Closed for Season

As of this morning the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge has closed the gate on Mystery Creek Road and the Pipeline Corridor for the season.

KNWR Law Enforcement Supervisor Chris Johnson said they were checking the road for unattended vehicles before locking the gate and detailed what it’s typically used for.

Johnson: “It’s access to the Mystery Creek area, Chikaloon, for hunting grouse and water fowl and during moose season they hunt back there.”

He said the road is still open to anyone who wants to use on foot but the changing seasons makes the road unpredictable for vehicles.
