An Anchorage resident was accused of creating a severe traffic hazard by walking in and out of traffic, without clothes on, at mile 24 of the Seward Highway in Crown Point, located near Moose Pass. The incident happened on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 4:22 p.m., according to the online state trooper dispatch.
A Seward-based Alaska State Trooper responded to the area and located a naked 22-year-old Anchorage resident walking down the middle of the Seward Highway. Attempts to communicate with the male and convince him to leave the roadway were unsuccessful.
The unidentified male then allegedly became aggressive and physically assaulted the state trooper by fighting and biting him, in addition to violently slamming his own head into the Trooper’s marked patrol vehicle. The trooper deployed a taser and pepper spray, which showed no effect on the male. The male suspect ultimately had to be physically restrained with the use of a baton.
Medical personnel subsequently transported the male to a Seward area hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.
The suspect faces 4th degree assault and criminal mischief charges. No other information is known at this time.
