The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement on Thursday afternoon for most of South Central Alaska. Warning of icy conditions that are expected through Friday as temperatures drop back below freezing.
After widespread rain and snow this afternoon, temperatures are expected to fall below freezing tonight. This will likely cause hazardous conditions across area roads and surfaces as temperatures fall back below freezing.
