Native Youth Olympics Located at Kenai Middle School, Not SoHi

We reported yesterday that this weekend’s Native Youth Olympics will be held at SoHi, however a change in the location this year has moved the events to Kenai Middle School.

Bernard: ” The Kenaitze Indian Tribe is hosting a Native Youth Olympics invitational at Kenai Middle School this weekend. The events start Friday night at 5:45 pm with opening ceremonies and the games begin at 6 pm. “

 

Bernard said the activities will start again on Saturday at 8 am, followed by a community potluck that evening and a special guest.

 

Bernard: “At 7:30 pm we are finishing the evening off with a concert, featuring the group Pamyua at Kenai Central High School Auditorium.” 

 

The games resume Sunday morning at 9 o’clock, Bernard said they’ll finish around 3 or 4 that afternoon.

 

He also encourages any interested youth from the peninsula to come out and try the games which are free for the public. The concert on Saturday is $10 for general admission.
