The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly chose Dale Bagley to be President and Sue McClure as Vice President.
Bagley said the biggest change that comes with the title is running the meetings.
President Bagley: “I’ve sat through four years of assembly meetings in the past and six years mayor but I’ve never had to actually run the meeting so it’s a little more, or a lot more work actually and you don’t just get to sit there and watch the meeting happen in front of you. So I think I did ok today but I will probably get smoother with it in the future.”
He said he is excited about the opportunity and will do the best job he can.
Assembly Member Brent Johnson was also nominated for the presidency but declined.
Sue McClure was the lone nomination for Vice President.
Previous Assembly President Hal Smalley had reached his term limit and Blaine Gilman was voted into his Kenai seat.
