The City of Kenai Municipal Airport will be welcoming a new restaurant, Double O Express.
Mayor of Kenai, Pat Porter is very excited about this….
Porter: “I’ve seen their menu and I think it’s amazing and I’ll be going in there to have a hamburger right away.”
Double O Express is a local Kenai restaurant that has previously been run out of a food truck near the Kenai Visitor Center. They make fresh food to order including burgers, fries, chicken strips and more.
Odie’s Deli will currently only have its location in Soldotna, off of the Sterling Highway. However, Porter hopes Odie’s won’t leave the Kenai community for long.
Porter: “You know everyone got used to Odie’s being over here and I’m certainly hoping that they will come back into our community because when you get used to something you just wish for that one sandwich or that great bowl of soup and it’s not there anymore and for lunch you’re not going to travel all the way to Soldotna. But hopefully they’ll find another niche that’s a little bit better than the airport.”
Double O Express will open in the Kenai Airport on Monday, July 11 at 5:00am.
