The initial members to the newly formed Nikiski Advisory Planning Commission are up for approval at the upcoming Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, November 15th; and once approved, will hit the ground running with a schedule meeting with Alaska Gasline Development Corp. President Frank Richards, set for Thursday, December 1st.
Borough Mayor Mike Navarre has nominated Tom Coursen, Patricia Williams, Karen S. McGahan, Lenora Niesen, Kelly Brewer, Michael A. Peek, and Jason Ross to serve on the Nikiski Advisory Planning Commission.
Navarre on committee selection and confirmation;
“Have a new advisory planning commission in the Nikiski area; that was approved by the assembly a couple of meeting ago. We’re just in the process, at the next assembly meeting, the assembly will confirm members that I have appointed to the advisory planning commission.”
The commission will meet with the president of the AGDC on December 1st, according to Navarre;
“On December 1st we’re intending to have our initial meeting of that committee, Frank Richards from AGDC, Alaska Gasline Development Corp. will be here to talk about some of the progress or announcements that have been made about that and give a little bit better perspective about where we’re at and what else needs to happen. So that will be on December 1st, Nikiski Advisory Planning Commission.”
