The Nikiski Bulldogs opened Peninsula Conference play with a home split with the Homer Mariners on Tuesday at Nikiski High School.
Homer Girls 45 – Nikiski Girls 33
The Homer Mariners girls basketball team outscored the Bulldog girls 25-12 in the second half for a 45-33 Peninsula Conference victory. Nikiski lead 21-20 after the first half; however, scored only a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter. Maggie Grenier lead the Bulldogs with seven points; Delilah Harris topped the Mariners with 12 points.
Nikiski Boys 54 – Homer 53
The Bulldog boys lead 23-21 at the half and built a 39-32 lead after three quarters; then held-off a late Homer charge for a 54-53 Bulldog victory. Brady Bostic lead Nikiski with 24 points and Dillon Hanson scored 12 points. Carter Tennison scored 22 point for the Mariners, all in the second half.
