The 2015 Nikiski Class Races, an early season, high school cross country running event, featured four 5K events with runners competing in combined, class races.
In the 9th and 10 grade girls division, Jaycie Calvert from KCHS posted the fastest time with a 21:47 over the long 5K course. The Kenai girls won the 9-10 team title.
The 9th and 10th grade boys division was won by Homer’s Charlie Menke in 18:50. The Soldotna boys won the 9-10 team title.
In the 11th and 12th grade division, SoHi’s Olivia Hutchings posted a 21:10 on the over 5K distance. The Homer girls win the 11-12 team title.
The 11th and 12th grade boys champion is SoHi’s Aaron Swedburg, with a winning time of 18:19. The Star boys win the 11-12 team title.
Next up on the cross country running schedule is the 2015 Tsalteshi Trails Invitational scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd on the Tsalteshi Trails.
