Around eight Nikiski residents showed up to the Aaron Duvall arraignment this afternoon where he was denied bail.
Nikiski’s Community Action Group has been working to improve communication between neighbors and law enforcement to crack down on drug related thefts in the area.
Ann Krogseng attended today and has been one of the leaders in those efforts.
Krogseng: “I think that the community has risen to the call for action and for vigilance to look at what’s going on in our community and take an active role in keeping it safe, we all have a personal responsibility to work with the system that’s in place to make it stronger, it’s only as good as we are involved. So by being here today I think it was a statement to the offender and to the court that we want to create a community and continue to have a community that’s safe and we’re participating in that process by being here.”
Troopers arrested 26 year-old “AJ” Duvall last Friday, October 24, for outstanding warrants connected to a 2013 burglary.
