Oil companies in Nikiski are working to diversify in order to keep jobs going since the downturn in oil prices.

 

Randy Fox with Peak said their newest asset of an industrial wash bay does just that.

Fox: “We’ve always been able to withstand different climates and now with this newest asset, being able to wash tanks and vessels, it just helps us help our clients further.”

 

The facility cost approximately $1 million to build and offers new environmentally friendly options.

Fox: “We’ll be able to wash different pieces of equipment, different tanks or vessels, whether they be oilfield related or hauling fuel or whatever, those kinds of things. What we have the ability to do is recycle our own water and recycle our own waste essentially not producing waste. We have a series of different filters and tanks and things that we’re able to process through to always stay as green as we can.”

 

Fox said although many companies are laying off workers, Peak has been able to keep a majority of their work force.
