The Nikiski Fire Department responded to a residence fire off of Dividend Street at around 4 pm Monday.
The smoke column could be seen from a distance and when personnel arrived they found the home, a vehicle, and an outbuilding fully engulfed in flames.
The first units were able to prevent the fire from escaping into the nearby woods.
The response included 18 personnel from the Nikiski and Kenai Fire Departments with two fire engines, two tankers, an ambulance, and several support vehicles.
Alaska State Troopers support along with a Division of Forestry helicopter and engine crew also responded to assess the nearby woods.
While the home was declared a total loss, no injuries were reported by either the homeowners or fire department personnel. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
