The 2019 Peninsula Conference Soccer Championships opened play on Thursday at Homer High School with a pair of #4 vs #5 seed contests involving Nikiski and Seward.
Nikiski 7 – Seward 0
The Nikiski girls shut out Seward 7-0 Thursday in the #4 vs #5 pairing in the opening round of the Peninsula Conference Soccer Championships hosted at Homer High School. Jordyn Stock recorded a three goal, hat trick and America Jefferies, Emma Wik, Tika Zimmerman and McKinlee Jeffreys added single goals.
The Bulldog girls advance to Friday’s semi-final against the #1 seed Soldotna Stars at noon at Homer High.
The Kenai Kardinal girls face Homer in the second, semi-final game on Friday at 4 p.m.
Nikiski Boys 2 – Seward 0
The Bulldog boys held Seward scoreless in a 2-0 first-round victory for Nikiski. Gavin White scored a first half goal and Isaiah Gray added a second half goal.
The Bulldog boys advance to play the #1 seed Kenai Kardinals in Friday’s semi-final game scheduled for 2 p.m. at Homer High School.
The #2 seed Homer hosts #3 Soldotna in Friday’s 6 p.m. semi-final game.
Peninsula Conference championship games are scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Friday’s winner’s automatically advance to the ASAA Division II State Soccer Championships. At-Large berths to the state tournament will be determined following the completion of all conference tournaments.
