Nikiski Tip-Off Tournament Opens With Victories For Kenai Girls & Bulldog Boys

The 2022 Russ Hitchcock Nikiski Tip-Off Basketball Tournament, featuring three days of round-robin basketball. opened on Thursday, January 13th at Nikiski High School.

Tournament teams include Nikiski girls and boys, Kenai girls and boys, Bethel girls and boys, Lumen Christi girls and the Colony JV boys.

 

Thursday Game Results

Kenai Girls 41 – Bethel  32

The Kenai girls lead 31-11 after three quarters and held-off a late charge by Bethel.  Emma Beck scored 18 for the Kardinals.

Kenai Boys 47 – Bethel 48

Kenai lead by 17 at the half 32-15; however an 18-point, fourth quarter pushed Bethel past Kenai 48-47.  Bethel’s Peter Crow scored 20 points including the game-winner with two seconds remaining.

Nikiski Girls 30 – Lumen Christi 42

The Bulldog girls trailed 26-13 at the half and played even with Lumen Christi in the second half.

Nikiski Boys 48 – Colony JV 30

The Bulldog boys built a commanding 39-11 lead through three quarters enroute to a 48-30 win over the Colony JV.  Brady Bostic scored 18 and Braeden Porter added 13 for Nikiski
