Mid-January means massive amounts of high school basketball.

The 2016 Nikiski Tipoff Basketball Tournament highlighted a busy basketball week with three days of games at Nikiski High School.

The Bulldog boys earn the team championship finishing tournament play undefeated.  Nikiski downed Bethel on Saturday 64-54 for a 3-0 record for the weekend.  Nate Carstens, boys tournament MVP, scored 17 for the Bulldogs in the final game.

The Bethel girls take the team trophy on a three-way tiebreaker.  Bethel, Homer and Nikiski all finished 2-1 and the Warriors earn the title by allowing the fewest points for the three games.
