Nikiski Tipoff Basketball Tournament

The Nikiski Bulldogs hosted Dillingham, Kotzebue and Houston in the annual Nikiski Tipoff Basketball Tournament at Nikiski High School.

The Bulldog boys win the boys championship, going 3-0 in tournament play.  The Nikiski girls finish 2-1 behind the 3-0 Houston Hawks.

Teams from the Mat-Su Valley battle Kenai and SoHi in North Star Conference hockey Thursday-Saturday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

Thursday, January 15

Kenai 0  – Colony 5   Kard goalie Nate O’Lena recorded 46 saves.

SoHi 6 – Wasilla 2  SoHi’s Ty Fenton scored two goals and goalie Billy Yoder stopped 33 shots.

Friday, January 16

Kenai 2 -Wasilla 4   Kenai’s Dalton Dosko scored two goals.

SoHi 3 – Palmer 4   SoHi goals by Hensley, Miller and Fenton.

Saturday, January 17

Kenai 1 -Palmer 3

SoHi 0 – Colony 5
