Ninilchik Boys Open 2A State On Thursday As Top Seed

The brackets are set for the ASAA 2A Boys State Basketball Championships and the Ninilchik boys, undefeated on the season with a 23-0 record, have earned the #1 seed for the 2A classification and will open 2A state tournament play on Thursday, March 17th at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.

 

The Wolverines will face #8 seed Hooper Bay from the Western Coastal Conference in the 2A bracket’s opening round at 11 a.m. on Court 1 at the AAC.  The Ninilchik boys are the only Kenai Peninsula team to qualify to the 2A or 1A state basketball championships.  The 2A tournament features eight boys and eight girls teams.  The 1A tournament features 16 boys and 16 girls teams with play beginning on Wednesday, March 16th.

All tournament games will be played at the Alaska Airlines Center.
