Alaska high school softball opens conference tournament play on Thursday with the Northern Lights Conference Championships in Kodiak for Division II softball.
Soldotna and Kenai softball teams will play for the championship in the NLC and for one of conference’s two state tournament berths to the ASAA Alaska Division II Softball State Tournament.
The Soldotna girls are seeded #2 into the tournament, based on regular season records; the Kardinal girls are seeded #4 in the five team conference.
Northern Lights Conference: Seeding and Tournament Format
The Homer Mariners earn the top seed; SoHi, seeded 2nd; Kodiak, 3rd; Kenai, 4th; and Houston 5th.
Double elimination tournament format features the championship game on Friday night and double-back rounds on Saturday to determine second state quaifier.

12:30 p.m. SoHi vs Kodiak
