No Boil Water Notice In Effect For Soldotna Residents

Soldotna residents can continue to use their water as normal following the quick resolution of a precautionary boil water notice issued earlier this week for the Fred Meyer building.

 

On Monday, June 30, the City of Soldotna received a report that an individual had improperly disposed of waste at the Fred Meyer RV water fill station. Although Fred Meyer’s water system remained under constant pressure and operated normally—eliminating any realistic chance of contamination—the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) issued a boil water notice for the Fred Meyer building out of an abundance of caution while testing was conducted.

 

Laboratory results have confirmed no contamination in the water system at Fred Meyer or elsewhere in Soldotna. The boil water notice for Fred Meyer was officially lifted on Tuesday, July 1.

 

“There is no longer a boil water notice in effect for Fred Meyer, and no boil water notices in effect for any other locations in the City of Soldotna,” city officials said in a statement.
