The state championships for high school Nordic Ski has been cancelled from its present date and format, with the hopes that an alternate site and location can be established at a later date.

The 2021 ASAA/First National Bank Alaska Nordic Ski State Championships, originally scheduled for February 25-27 at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, have been canceled due to conflicts and concerns over covid mitigations including social distancing and Municipality of Anchorage mandates.

The Alaska School Activities Association released the following statement…

“ASAA is announcing the cancellation of the February 25-27, 2021 ASAA/First National Bank Alaska Nordic Ski State Championships. Currently ASAA is working with the Municipality of Anchorage, the Anchorage Nordic Ski Association, and school districts to determine the feasibility of hosting the event at a later date.”

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District had approved travel for KPBSD schools entering teams and individuals to the state Nordic Ski championships.
