The Kenai Kardinal girls and the Soldotna Star boys raced to team titles, each lead by individual champions from their respective schools, at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Nordic Skiing Championships held on the Tsalteshi Trails.

Rianna Boonstra of Kenai lead the field in the girls varsity race on the 7.5-kilometer course posting a time of 27:29. Seward’s Ruby Lindquist placed second. Kenai’s Katie Cooper finished 5th and Maria Salzetti, 8th to lead Kenai to the team title.
In the boys competition, SoHi’s Cody Vinson completed the course in 22:58 to top all male skiers. Kenai’s Karl Danielson placed second just :05 seconds back. SoHi placed five skiers in the top ten with Jeremy Kupferschmid in 3rd, Addison Downing in 4th, Josh Shuler in 6th and Jack Harris in 9th.
