The 2014 Region III Nordic Ski Championships, the second leg in the “Big 3” series of ski events, are scheduled for the Tsalteshi Trails on Friday and Saturday, February 14-15.
Friday’s freestyle races begin with the varsity girls at 2:00 p.m.; followed by the varsity boys at 2:45 p.m.
Saturday’s classis style races feature the varsity boys at 11:00 a.m.; followed by the varsity girls at noon.
Kenai Peninsula Borough Nordic Championships: Results
Soldotna High’s Sadie Fox raced to victories in both disciplines at the KPBSD Nordic Championships. Fox won the 8K event on Friday with a time of 26:39; and followed with a victory in the 5K event on Saturday in a time of 15:32. On the boys side, SoHi’s Colten Diehl won Friday’s 10K skate with a time of 27:54 and on Saturday, Kenai’s Travis Cooper won the 5K event in a time of 13:03. Cooper wins the borough combined title by 15 seconds.
