Tonight, December 15, at 8 pm is the Obamacare Deadline for Alaskans who would like their healthcare to begin on January 1, 2015.
Tina Wegener with the Kenai Peninsula Community Health Services is a local navigator for healthcare.gov.
Wegener: “As long as they do something to try to get enrolled by today and they’re unable to do so they may qualify for an extension so they can still have their insurance start on January 1, the whole point of the deadline today is for their insurance to begin on the 1st of January.”
She said that this enrollment period has not seen nearly the amount of problems with the website.
Wegener: “I have found that it is much more user friendly this year than it was last year, we have had a couple glitches, nothing really really horrible but I think that it is much better than it was last year.”
Wegener said if anyone has problems with the website or questions about any of the steps for enrolling, Kenai Peninsula residents may contact PCHS at 260-3691 and ask for Kelly Whitmore or herself.
