October Brings HEA Rate Increase

As of October 1, Homer Electric Association members saw a quarterly rate increase.

 

HEA’s Joe Gallagher…

 

Gallagher: “The Cost of Power Adjustment is a portion of Homer Electric’s bill and it is adjusted, as our members know, on a quarterly basis. We adjust that on a quarterly basis to reflect the always changing price that we incur to purchase natural gas for our generation plants.”

 

The COPA increased from 7.78 cents per kilowatt hour to 7.91 cents per kilowatt hour, which means…

 

Gallagher: “The average member who uses 550 kilowatt hours will see an increase of about $.68 per month on their bill.”
