The Peninsula Oilers improve to 4-2 in the Alaska Baseball League following a split of a doubleheader against the Anchorage Bucs on Tuesday at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage.
Anchorage Bucs 7 – Oilers 1 Game One
The Oilers held an early lead with a first inning run only to watch the Bucs score three runs in the third inning and four in the fifth inning for a 7-1 Bucs victory.
Peninsula Oilers 4 – Anchorage Bucs 3 Game Two
The Oilers opened game two with a pair of first inning runs and added two runs in the fifth. A three-run, home run for the Bucs closed the gap to 4-3 Oilers into the seventh inning. Paul Lujan recorded three outs including striking-out two batters to earn the save; Josh Medeles earns the win with a five inning performance.
The Oilers and Bucs close the first home series on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. game at Mulcahy Park.
