Oilers Close Season In Dramatic Fashion

Author: Coach Dan Gensel |

Bases-loaded, two outs, down by three runs and the hometown kid at the plate; the Peninsula Oilers set the stage for the ultimate season-ending finish for a baseball game on Sunday at Fan Appreciation Day at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

Kenai’s Hector Rivera did not hit the Disney grand slam home run; but, the Oilers hit a grand slam in providing an outstanding baseball experience for Oilers fans Sunday and throughout the season.

And Miners win 7-4.  The Mat-Su Miners finish the regular season 31-10 with the best ABL record and the Miners will host the Top of the World Series on Monday and Tuesday (against the Anchorage Bucs).

In Sunday’s game the Miners demonstrated why they were the best ABL team throughout the 2015 season; amassing 16 hits for the ABL leading offensive team.

The Oilers close the season at 18-21 in ABL games.
