Oilers Defeat Chinooks In Regular Season Final

The Peninsula Oilers closed the regular season with a 6-2 victory over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Saturday; a win in advance of the Oilers Top of the World Series playoff game set for Sunday.

The Oilers downed the Chinooks 6-2 in Alaska Baseball League play in Chugiak.

The Oilers offense broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run, fifth inning, lead by RBI doubles for Shun Shimashita and Dalton Bowling.  The Oilers scored six runs on nine hits and left eight on base.

The Oilers finished 16-23 in the ABL regular season and advance to the Top of the World Series.

 

Top of the World Series Information

The Top of the World Series will feature two games on Sunday, July 31st with the winners advancing to a championship game on Monday, August 1st.
