Oilers Down Chinooks 6-0: Ready For Showcase & All-Star Games

Soldotna’s Joey Becher earned his first win as an Oilers starter recording four innings and allowing no runs on just one hit; as the Oilers held an early lead and downed the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks 6-0 in Chugiak on Thursday.

 

Oilers 6 – Chinooks 0

The Oilers scored four runs in the fifth inning to break open a 0-0 game; scoring four runs on one hit and five walks.  In the sixth, the Oilers scored one run or two hits and left bases-loaded, increasing the lead to 5-0.  The Oilers added one more for a 6-0 victory.

 

The Oilers play Friday and Saturday at Mulcahy Park in the ABL Scout’s Showcase.  The Oilers play the Mat-Su Miners in the 1:00 p.m. game on Friday; then play the Glacier Pilots at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
