The Peninsula Oilers closed-out their home stand and closed-out non-league play with a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Studs on Friday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park. The Oilers sweep the two-game series with the Studs and return to Alaska Baseball League play on Sunday night in Fairbanks against the Alaska Goldpanners.

A two-run, first inning set the stage for the Oilers; as the Oilers bats generated six runs on 11 base hits. The top of the lineup for the Oilers, Jordan Washam and Alex Seifert combined to reach base safely nine out of ten at-bats. Washam completed the game 3 for 4 and Siefert, 3 for 4 at the plate. The Oilers scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the fourth, two in the sixth and one run in the seventh inning.
The Oilers return to ABL action on Sunday in Fairbanks. The Oilers lead the American Division of the ABL with a 4-4 record, having not played a league game in over a week.
The Oilers will play the Goldpanners six times in the next five days. Sunday’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start at Growden Park. Monday will feature a double header with game one set for 5:00 p.m.
