The Oilers opened a five-game home stand on Saturday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park, a non-conference loss to the Everett Washington Merchants 2-1.
The Oilers, trailing 2-1 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, had the tying run thrown out at the plate when Jimmy Galusky was tagged-out going from second to home on an Alex Seifert single. The Oilers trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the ninth and collected four hits in the inning.
The Oilers will face the Merchants on Sunday for a Father’s Day afternoon game.
