Following three-straight victories over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks, the Peninsula Oilers dropped Friday’s game 15-7 in a game which featured big innings and plenty of unearned runs.
Chinooks 15 – Oilers 7
Both the Oilers and Chinooks allowed three unearned runs in the 15-7 Chinook victory; the Oilers allowing three unearned runs with two outs in the third inning which changed the flow of the contest. The Oilers tied the game at 4-4 in the third inning with a four-run inning. The Oilers trailed 6-5 into the seventh inning before Chugiak scored eight runs in the seventh. A two-run home run by Oilers Garrett Pennington closed-out the scoring in the ninth.
The Oilers and Chinooks play game five of the five-game series on Saturday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park with a scheduled 5 p.m. start time.
