Oilers Fill GM Position With Past Coach & Player

The Peninsula Oiler baseball club announced the hiring of John Kennedy as the 2016 General Manager for the Peninsula Oilers.  Kennedy’s duties as GM begin immediately in preparation for Oilers opening day on June 8th.

 

John Kennedy, currently the head coach for Kenai Central High School baseball, has a long history with the Oilers dating back to 1982, when Kennedy played catcher for the 1982 Oilers and was a member of the 1982 NAIA World Series Runner-up Bemidji State baseball team and all-conference catcher in 1983 & 84.

Kennedy served as an assistant coach for the Oilers from 2011 through 2014 and takes the helm of the Oilers for 2016 with a wealth of knowledge both of the Oilers and the Alaska Baseball League.
