Strong pitching and solid defense held the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks to a single run in a 2-1 victory in the Alaska Baseball League for the Peninsula Oilers on July 4th at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
The Oilers plated two runs on seven hits and improved to 8-7 in the ABL’s American Division.
David Diaz picked up the win with five innings work, allowing only one run. Paul Lojan recorded his fifth save.
The Oilers play the Chinooks on Sunday at Coral Seymour Park at 2:00 p.m.
