The Peninsula Oilers managed only two runs in the ninth inning on Sunday, falling to the Mat-Su Miners 8-2 on the Fourth of July ABL contest in Palmer.

Held in check through the first eight innings and trailing 8-0, the Oilers loaded the bases in the top of the ninth and plated two runs in an 8-2 loss to the Miners.
The Miners scored eight runs on 11 hits while the Oilers scored 2 runs on four hits, only two hits in the first eight innings.
The Oilers travel to Anchorage to face the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Monday at 7 p.m.
